"In C", composed in 1964, is the first classic minimalist work. There is only 53 short musical phrases in the score without compulsory minimum or maximum number of repetitions of them.

Any instruments can play this piece, so its performances can last from 15 minutes to 1,5 hour.
Riley notes that singers can play this piece using the vowels or consonants they want.

The result is always new and wondering.
Offering so extraordinary freedom, it has been performed by symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, ethnic music, jazz.

Our performance is a first one for a set of period instruments.
